Terms of Service

Navner detects upcoming flights from your Google Calendar reservations, stores the traveller details required for check-in, and automatically completes online check-in with your airline when the check-in window opens. It is distributed as open-source software under the MIT licence and is intended to be self-hosted: each deployment is installed and operated by the individual using it.

This project is unofficial and independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or in any way connected to any airline. Airline names, codes and logos are used only to identify the carrier a booking belongs to.

Automating interactions with an airline’s website may conflict with that airline’s terms of service or conditions of carriage. You are solely responsible for reviewing and complying with the terms of any airline you use this software with, and for accepting any consequences of automated access, which can include a cancelled booking or a closed loyalty account.

Use this software only for reservations you personally hold or are expressly authorised to manage. Do not use it to check in on behalf of people who have not asked you to.

Check-in flows depend on airline websites, which change without notice. A check-in may fail, run late, or complete differently than expected — for example selecting a different seat or bag option than you intended.

You remain responsible for confirming that you are checked in and for arriving at the airport on time. Treat this software as a convenience, never as a guarantee. Always verify your boarding pass with the airline directly before travelling.

Each airline’s check-in flow is described by a definition file contributed and maintained by the community. Definitions that have not been verified against the live airline site run in dry-run mode only: the flow is walked but nothing is ever submitted. Enabling live check-in requires an explicit, deliberate opt-in, and it is your responsibility to review what a flow does — using the dry-run log — before enabling it.

The software is designed never to spend money. Where checked baggage is included in your fare, the maximum free allowance is selected; where baggage costs money, check-in proceeds with none. Seat selection is limited to seats available at no charge. No payment details are ever collected, stored or submitted.

• Provide accurate traveller information. Incorrect details may invalidate a check-in or cause you to be denied boarding.
• Keep your own deployment secure, including its encryption key and database credentials.
• Comply with all applicable laws and with the terms of the third-party services you connect, including Google.

This software is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, as set out in the MIT licence that governs the source code.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither the authors nor any contributor is liable for any claim, damages or other liability arising from the use of this software. This includes missed flights, missed check-in windows, unfavourable seat assignments, baggage charges, cancelled reservations, loyalty-account actions taken by an airline, or any other direct or indirect loss.

How your data — including data received from Google APIs — is accessed, used and stored is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

These terms may be updated; the date above will change when they are. Continuing to use the software after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. The full revision history is public in the project repository.
